PLEASE HELP!!! Im appealing to all B+ friends…please text or call me 09176201969 if you can donate blood or know somebody who can. Iggy has active bleeding =(. I’m so scared that we will not have enough platelets especially since the storm is …coming. Screening starts at 7 AM at Lung Center, 8 AM at Red Cross port area and quezon city. Iggy’s complications have lessened

Bad news though – BLAST cells are already seen in his peripheral blood test results. From 10% two days ago to 65% today. Blasts are the concrete indication that the leukemia is definitely back. The new drug Clofarabine has already arrived but is still in the customs.

He has on and off fever and is because of the leukemia cells infiltrating already. Still on 24/7 reliever in patch form.

He is off his IV nourishment and eats anything, and everything…Off oxygen, off cardiac monitor and no more catheter. Another high point is that iggy remains to be in good spirits and remains to be faithfull.

The earlier he is able to undergo the next chemotherapy cycle, the better. The drug is relatively new. Iggy is the 1st patient to use it in our country. May we request continued prayers that he goes into remission once again, and that his body can handle the complications and side effects of the chemo cycle?

Visitors are very welcome to cheer him up but be required to go through proper sterilization protocol.

Iggy’s complications are still being addressed

Drug to lower down heart rate helped. It will be at least six months from now that doctors will be able to find out if cardiomyopathy is irreversible.

Gastro-intestinal as well as kidney better now although he has a catheter. Has been on a total liquid diet for about 1 week but is being encouraged to try soft diet. Iggy is still hooked on TPN (total parenteral nutrition) to make sure that his body remains to be nourished.

Pain was addressed by also hooking him up on pain killers released on a fixed rate and on demand basis. At least, the pain that he rated as 8/10 two days ago is now down to 3/10.

Iggy is still on oxygen and is being given regular breathing exercises to improve lung volume.

He has on and off fever still and is because of the super low WBC counts. Transfusion of WBC will be resumed today and will be done for 3 days again. The doctors are hoping that this will help.

Iggy’s condition went from bad to worse

Complications involving the gastro-intestinal, kidney, lungs and heart among others developed.

His heart function is only 30%…they even fear a hole in his heart. He has pains and has difficulty in breathing.

He has and is still is being transfused with several blood products namely: WBC (white blood cell), Packed RBC (red blood cell), plasma and platelet concentrate on a daily basis.

WBC donor crisis has been answered thanks to friends from DLS-College of St. Benilde and Nurses from St. Luke’s.

His upcoming chemotherapy as well as transplant, is ON HOLD.

Visitors will definitely be limited and will be required to go through proper sterilization protocol.

Iggy makes an unexpected turn for the worse: lung, kidney and gastro intestinal problems among others.

Doctors and Beng are still mulling the use of this drug that will cost PHP2.4 million, which will wipe out the balance of our funds. We’ll have to renew our vigor in raising funds for Iggy’s medical care and transplant.

If you believe in God and in prayer, now’s the time to ask Him for a big, big favor.
